I never liked the qte/luck based inputs in ultimate ninja either but that game had it in abundance. You didn't have to land an attack in order for it to work or be in proximity to your opponent, it would just auto queue up a cut-scene attack with really basic QTE's. Ougis also weren't attack based so the entire game was landing a combo to knock the opponent down so you could use your hand signs and charge it and then it just worked. You had to remember each character's specials.ģ. This kinda went against the conventions the naruto fighters had going for them where it was more about application rather than execution. Your ougis had a weird mechanic where you had to remember directional inputs indicative of hand signs. Namely my issues with the game were that it did the storm thing where all combos just launch or slam the enemy and didn't chain into other combos.Ģ. Okay this game was very rough around the edges, was xbox exclusive and also storm came out the same year and blew it out of the water.ġ. But damn, it looks good.Īnyway i think the game will be fun and pretty like the others, but for the depth of the gameplay or the fighting system this is not the best by far. I would have liked some tactic aspect in the storm series also, i like the game don't get me wrong but smashing one button to attack is getting old and when you think that a lot of openwolrd/action game use the same 'one button for every combo' it's sad to see it in a fighting game, i know a lot of people don't like when i say that but that's how i feel.Īnyway i think the game will be fun and pretty like the others, but for the depth of the gameplay or the fighting system this is not the best by far. You can see neji starting a combo, then swapping with shikamaru during a dual combo Wispouille eredeti hozzászólása:I did'nt played naruto on ps2 but i see a lot of thread talking about old naruto game and i never saw naruto the broken bond in themĭid any of you played it ? They took the 'change the character in combat' from it and the way jutsu needed to be charge added a tactical lear to the game Other than that I can't say this series added many interesting things to the combat system.įor those who aren't familiar the games controlled much tighter and there was a lot of creative applications of the characters abilities that allowed for an interesting combat system: We lost so much when they transitioned to 3d especially in the way of directional inputs because those had to be used for movement in the storm games and really the only interesting idea I've seen added to the series was in this game where different jutsu function better/worse depending on your location. The game had it's turtles, rushers, grapplers, zoners and chakra deny-ers and that led to a much larger viable character pool. Narutimate Accel 2 (Ultimate ninja 5 in eu and never released in NA) was one of my favorite fighting games of the time and I think it's a shame that they didn't get some of the modern features that we see now like the amazing cell shading that storm runs with and more importantly, netplay. Because of this everyone plays the same 2 or 3 characters and playstyles are just non-existent. Every character in the storm series feels homogenized and there's very little in the way of different character roles and matchups. Back in the ps2 era the Naruto fighting games made by NamcoBandai were so much better and I feel a great deal of depth and character diversity was lost when transitioning to the 3d games.
